OK, So it has been 3 years since I started this blog. Rather than focusing on the events that have happened in the past years, I have decided to refocus on the present.
And the first issue on hand for this SAHM is WEIGHT LOST.. or at least the idea of having some kilos shredded off me.
Growing up, excess weight has never been an issue for me. I was a small kid whom at secondary 1, my classmates have mistook me sitting in for a younger sibling of the actual student. In my early 20s, I stood at 1.63m tall and barely at 47kg.. pretty decent I must say. Life was breezy then, had an awesome job, traveled a few continents and so basically wasting away my time with minimal commitments.
Then marriage came at 25 years of age, and within 4 months we found out that I was conceived with our first child. Super physched! Apart from the occasional emotional meltdowns, craving for anything associated with fish and vomiting throughout my 1st trimester, I must say that I actually enjoyed the pregnancy. And so Pom was born in January 2007, and I was at 65kg. In the first year... a very slow first year.. I have managed to go down to 56kg at best. And the weight stays, I had to demoralizing upgrade my clothes size from Small to Medium. It was ok... I accepted it eventually.
Little did I know that when I found out that I were conceived yet again in 2010... things got pretty heavy (dun mind the pun) drastically from then on. Argh, I worked back then at a private school as an administrator and so our lunch time were pretty flexible. And I were craving a lot... and I meant a lot of varied dishes or desserts. Honestly, I were fit as a fiddle... second pregnancy,... a legend... and I love to walk. Unfortunately, the primary motivation of those longgggggg walks were mainly due to getting to the destinations of my current food crave at that particular point of day. This occurred very much so often especially during my 3rd trimester.
By then I was over 70kg prolly more. Working at the city hall area, I remembered that once or twice, in the scorching heat of noon, I managed to walk from my work place to tekka market and back just a packet of indian rojak.. yummy! Once i even took a train to harbourfront just for a plate of char kuay teow. .. all in a hour. I didnt trouble anyone for my cravings and Hubs trusted me fully on the sensibility that I did not overworked myself. Oh well, to cut the story short... I were a rock star! As being pregnant gave me the licence to stuff my face, or at at pretend, even though I did do feel that I should hold back just a bit.
Nevertheless, in all honestly... concerning the amount of food intake I took during my last trimester...it wasn't that all bad. My last weigh in prior to delivery was at 78kg though.
Bub came healthy into the world in July 2011 and weight dropped to 60kg.... within 3 months. Not too shabby right? :)
All is well... except that we just celebrated Bub's 4th birthday 2 weeks ago... and Im still at 60kg.
Forget about Medium.. I have since left the boat.. and moved on to Large.
So alas, that's my weight story...
Coming on 1st August 2015 though... I will be starting a 1 month August challenge. I don't see it a weight loss programme or detox regiment. I will just see it as ...,hay! lets just try the product for fun...30 days exactly and see if theres any different.
I'm seriously not putting my hope up at all...as I'm pretty cynical. But I will give it a benefit of doubt and see if I can prove myself wrong.
So stay tuned...

Pokka's Promotions & Singapore Angry Birds Themed Cable Car
I must admit that me and hubs favorite all-time drink and a must-have in our icebox is the Premium Milk Coffee by Pokka. Lurve it!!!
So, when Pokka conducted a lucky draw contest back in October 2012, I have managed to submit numerous entries on every purchase of our drinks and were pleased when Pokka had informed us by post that we have been chosen as one of the lucky draw winners.
We have since won ourselves a pair of....
Singapore Angry Birds Cable Car Tickets!!! Woohoo!! And what a perfect timing with the upcoming school holidays, it will be a good chance to bring along the kids for the ride without blowing the wallet. (",)
Based on the official website (click here), price for around trip ticket is
- Sin$29 for adult and Sin$18 for child
- Children below 3 years old ride for free
This includes:
- A ride on board the Angry Birds newly themed Christmas Cabin
- Angry Birds face masks
- Mocktail drink in Angry Bird collectible cup
In relation of the Angry Birds theme, Mount Faber Leisure Group has organized numerous activities such as Creative Workshop, Christmas Photopoints (available from 07 December 2012 onwards) and Angry Birds iPad & Interactive Games. Do check out the full range of activities on their official website.
Pommy was extremely elated when she found out about the tickets and has since been constantly bugging me to take her up for the ride. Needless to say... it took loads of persuasion on my part for her to patiently wait for the commencement of the year-end schools' break. Finally, on 27 November 2012, I decided to take a risk on the unpredictable monsoon weather (well, that and also the validity of the tickets will be expiring soon..hehe), woke the kids up early and head down to Harbourfront via train.
We boarded the themed cable car at Harbourfront Tower 2, Level 15 to Sentosa Island at around 11am. The newly upgraded cabin is so spacious and wheel-chair friendly. I'm able to push the stroller in without folding it up which I do applauded in appreciation . As promised, the cabin is decked with Angry Birds theme and the ever-so familiar sounds of the birds played in the background speakers continuously throughout the ride.
Here are some pics. Enjoyz!

Not too shabby right? :) We were blessed with clear sky throughout even when we boarded the cable car back from Sentosa to Mount Faber for the collection of our ever-cute angry birds collectible cups before boarding another cabin back to end our trip at Harbourfront. This is Lil Bubba first time ride and it amazed me on how oblivious he was to the heights and kept on pointing out the scenery speaking gibberish all the way. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Thanks You Pokka!!

Jumping off the ledge into full time motherhood...
Turning 32 last month, it didn't occur to me that I'll be a stay at home mum (sahm) this soon in life. Flashbacks of uni days and earning my engineering degree engulfed me when I submitted my resignation letter admitting to the fact that juggling full-time work with family commitment was a complete utter struggle.
Late meetings and events kept me from reaching home on time... at best, I have a 15 minutes span to cuddle with my kids before their bedtime and that will be on a good day. Weekends are dreadful to even do laundry let alone bonding with my loved ones. Granted, being a working mum does have its perks.. I'm able to indulge in personal time like having a light read on the train, enjoying a steaming cup of coffee before turning on the workstation, gathering thoughts for the day tasks ahead and of course, the extra monthly income doesn't hurt a bit.
But then again, I know it's cliche but family outweighs all.
This blog is created as on outlet to express the daily chronicles of being a full time mother. I know that there are loads of ladies out there who are just as clueless like me with regards to healthcare, and home budgeting to name a few. Regardless, I applaud to those whom have overcome all obstacles to be a nurturing mentor figure to their children and keeping their house in check while I honestly yearn to be one.
So let the journey begins....
